Policosanol Supports Healthy Cholesterol Levels Policosanol is perhaps one of the most exciting additions to natural cholesterol supplementation. Derived from the coating on sugar cane, policosanol is now used in many countries to support healthy cholesterol levels.

Policosanol works by inhibiting the formation of cholesterol in the body.

In clinical studies policosanol reduced LDL cholesterol by 21 to 29% and increased HDL between 8 and 15%. Because policosanol is a blood-thinning agent, hemophiliacs and those already on warfarin (Coumadin) should be cautious in its use.
