During their lifetime women run a 40% risk of developing osteoporosis, a loss of bone mass. Nearly half of women age 50 or older will suffer from it. Osteoporosis can also affect men with one in eight experiencing bone fractures due to osteoporosis. Among the elderly, one-quarter die as a direct or indirect result of hip fractures resulting from osteoporosis.
Ostivone also includes ipriflavone, a synthetic derivative of genestein or daidzein. Genestein and daidzein are isoflavones, natural plant components that have antioxidant, anti-inflammatory and anti-allergy properties. Ipriflavone has been studied extensively by the natural health industry particularly for helping symptoms of osteoporosis.
Research studies have shown positive results from ipriflavone supplementation in maintaining or increasing bone mineral density, particularly when combined with a calcium supplement. In studies, ipriflavone was shown to have potential to prevent rapid bone loss after menopause, to increase bone density in post-menopausal women, to decrease bone fracturing and to relieve bone pain from osteoporosis.
Ostivone also provides needed calcium for strong bones. According to the National Institutes of Health, it is not unusual for many individuals to consume less than half the calcium they need for building and maintaining healthy bones. Heavy use of caffeine, such as in coffee, large intake of sodium phosphates found in carbonated drinks and alcohol can cause drops in the calcium the body retains.
Getting enough calcium in the diet is important for treating and/or preventing a number of health issues. Research has shown calcium may impact conditions such as osteoporosis, hypoarathyroidism, premenstrual syndrome (PMS), high blood pressure, high cholesterol, stroke, colon problems, obesity, tooth and gum disease and insomnia. Calcium is the most plentiful mineral in the body. To function properly, calcium must be accompanied by several other nutrients including Vitamins A, C, D and K, phosphorus and magnesium.
Suggested Use: As a dietary supplement, adults take three (3) tablets daily, or as directed by a health care professional. Store in a cool, dry place and away from direct light.

All Vitabase brand products are manufactured within the USA. This is an important for quality because the FDA inspects our manufacturing facilities regularly. In other countries, governmental agencies may not necessarily exercise much control over manufacturing processes.
We source our ingredients from around the world. This is important because the best available ingredients are not necessarily made in the United States. For example, we get our liquid herbal extract ingredients from Europe because they are absolutely the best on the market.
