Popular Antioxidants

Alpha-lipoic acid - Also known as thioctic acid, is a chemical that plays an important roll in the energy producing processes of the body and is a powerful antioxidant. Popular antioxidants such as Alpha-lipoic acid are known for their ability to neutralize high levels of free radicals and how well it interacts with other antioxidants.

Beta Carotene - A member of the family called carotenoids, beta carotene is found in many of the fruits and vegetables that we eat. Beta carotene is often listed when considering popular antioxidants.

Bilberry - Related to the same family of plants that produce cranberries and blueberries, bilberry are known for their antioxidant properties, particularly as they contribute to prevention of various vision disorders such as cataracts, macular degeneration, and poor night vision.

Pomegranate – The small fruit from the pomegranate tree is high in antioxidants and is usually pressed into a juice.

Vitamin C - An antioxidant vitamin that neutralizes free radicals, Vitamin C is important to the production of collagen, which is present in bones, cartilage, muscle, and blood vessels.

Vitamin E – An antioxidant vitamin that neutralizes free radicals, Vitamin E works to maintain the health of cellular membrane.
