Dr. Jacobs earned her Naturopathic Medical Degree from Bastyr University in Seattle, WA. Bastyr University, has the distinction of being the leading educational and research institution for science-based natural medicine. Prior to receiving her Doctorate Degree, Dr. J obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology and a Health Minor from the College of Charleston.

Dr. Jacobs completed clinical rotations in various outreach clinics in the Seattle area as well as preceptored with some of the world's leading Naturopathic Physicians. Her practice is centered around clinical nutrition, homeopathy, herbal medicine, and lifestyle counseling. She has received additional training in the areas of detoxification, women's health, and the natural management of psychiatric conditions. She is the Vice President of the South Carolina Association of Naturopathic Physician and a member of the American Association of Naturopathic Physicians.

A frequent writer and lecturer, Dr. J is passionate about health education and works closely with people to help them identify and meet their health goals. She teaches a weekly whole foods cooking class where she shares her thoughts about the healing power of using food as medicine.

There is concern about taking chondroitin with blood thinners. Chondroitin potentially acts as a blood thinner, therefore people on blood thinners that choose to take chondroitin need to be closely monitored by their prescribing Doctor.
