History and Usage:

GastroSoothe is a natural antacid that provides fast and effective relief for upset stomach, acid indigestion and heartburn. GastroSoothe is derived from deglycyrrhizinated licorice or DGL. It is made chewable, not only for convenience, but also to improve the effects of DGL’s natural components when added to saliva.

Licorice has long been used as a sweetener and herbal medicine. In DGL, one of the active ingredients, glycyrrhizin, is removed to prevent any hypertensive or elevated high pressure side effects. The absence of glycyrrhizin makes the extended use of Deglycyrrhizinated licorice (DGL) safer than licorice that retains the glycyrrhizin content. DGL is also effective for the protection of the stomach and the upper part of the small intestines and for the treatment of duodenal and gastric ulcers as well as peptic ulcers in the stomach.
