History and Usage:

Eucalyptus Essential Oil is useful in aromatherapy for the relief of nasal and bronchial congestion, as well as joint and muscle aches. It also exhibits antibacterial traits. The main active component of the oil extracted from eucalyptus leaves is the volatile oil eucalyptol. Eucalyptus oil is similar in its properties to menthol because of the way it acts on receptors in the nasal mucosa, alleviating the symptoms of nasal congestion. To be effective, the amount of eucalyptol in a formulation must be at least 70 %.

Eucalyptus Essential Oil can be used in a warm bath to take additional advantage of its congestion-relieving and ache-easing properties.
