Acetyl-L-Carnitine Arginate (ALCA™) and Alpha Lipoic Acid (ALA) support the mitochondrial production of energy. ALCA™ combines the amino acids Acetyl-L-Carnitine and L-Arginine in a unique molecular structure to form Acetyl-L-Carnitine Arginate. Acetyl L-Carnitine transports nutrients into cells that are necessary for energy production, yielding the energy molecule ATP. Similarly, the acetyl group of acetyl L-carnitine aids in the formation of acetyl-CoA, a very important link in processing energy from amino acids, fats, and carbohydrates.
Alpha Lipoic Acid (ALA) is a fatty acid that is found in every cell in the body. Uniquely functioning in both water and fat, the body uses Alpha Lipoic Acid to convert glucose into the energy needed for normal functions. Alpha lipoic acid also has antioxidant properties.
