History and Usage:

NAC SUSTAIN™ is has a double layer of N-Acetyl-L-Cysteine, one for quick release and the other for sustained release format. N-Acetyl-L-Cysteine is a powerful antioxidant amino acid and is a precursor to the necessary antioxidant glutathione. Glutathione has demonstrated a variety of protective effects, including aiding the body’s ability to detoxify heavy metals and other toxic substances and guarding cells against the stress of oxidation. Alcohol and acetaminophen are known to decrease the body’s level of glutathione.

The advanced double layer technology of NAC SUSTAIN™ combines 1/3 Quick Release and 2/3 Sustained Release design to both immediately raise and then to maintain blood levels over a sustained period of time. NAC SUSTAIN™ releases over a 4 hour period in the small intestine, compared to the 1.5 hour half-life of NAC in the bloodstream. This technology is protected by U.S. Patent 6,623,754.
