Jarrow Formulas Green Maté is an unfermented 5:1 extract of Yerba Mate, guaranteed to contain at least 20% caffeoylquinic acid and 5% chlorogenic acids. Most Yerba Maté undergoes a fermentation process, destroying the beneficial caffeoylquinic acid. Traditionally, Yerba Maté has been used to promote energy, and recently demonstrated to improve fatty acid oxidation.
Yerba Mate naturally contains 11 polyphenols, which are compounds that act as potent antioxidants and have been shown to fight cancer through strengthening the body’s natural defenses and protecting it against attacks from free radicals.
