NAC (N-Acetyl Cysteine) is the more easily absorbed and useful form of the amino acid, L-cysteine. It is a powerful antioxidant that helps protect cells from oxidative stress. It is believe to be especially helpful in protecting the liver by raising glutathione levels in the body.
NAC also works in the body to remove toxins such as lead, arsenic, mercury. It also is believed to support the immune system. Some studies have indicated that it may be effective at breaking up mucus due to bronchitis and also improving the symptoms of influenza.
Vitabase NAC contains 600 mg of N-Acetyl Cysteine per vegetarian capsule, but it also includes selenium and molybdenum which work synergistically with NAC to provide additional antioxidant enzymatic activity.
Suggested Use: As a dietary supplement, adults take one (1) vegetarian capsule, two (2) to four (4) times daily between meals or as directed by a health care professional.
