Gamma Aminobutyric Acid, or GABA, is a non-essential amino acid found in high concentrations in the brain and eyes. GABA is formed from glutamic acid with the aid of Vitamin B6. Usually the brain is capable of producing sufficient GABA but due to a variety of environmental or health reasons levels can drop. The result can be anxiety, irritability, or insomnia. Low GABA levels have also been associated with depression.
GABA is the primary inhibitory neurotransmitter in the central nervous system. In this role it helps prevent transmission of messages from one cell to another. This means GABA can help prevent anxiety or stress-related messages from reaching the brain. GABA plays a key role in how the central nervous system responds to stressful situation. GABA can help encourage relaxation and sleep.
GABA also affects the anterior pituitary gland prompting it to release more Human Growth Hormone (HGH). HGH contributes to muscle growth and limits the development of fat cells. Regular GABA supplementation led to excess fat loss in some studies. Many people over 40 see levels of HGH drop and may experience sleep problems. GABA may help improve HGH levels leading to better sleep.
Suggested Use: As a dietary supplement, take 1 capsule 2 to 3 times daily as needed, preferably with juice or water on an empty stomach.

All Vitabase brand products are manufactured within the USA. This is an important for quality because the FDA inspects our manufacturing facilities regularly. In other countries, governmental agencies may not necessarily exercise much control over manufacturing processes.
We source our ingredients from around the world. This is important because the best available ingredients are not necessarily made in the United States. For example, we get our liquid herbal extract ingredients from Europe because they are absolutely the best on the market.
