Korean Ginseng (Panax ginseng) has been used for centuries throughout the Orient as an important herb for health. Today it is one of the most widely found and used herbs throughout the world. For many years, panax ginseng has been considered an herb capable of great healing and strengthening. Ginseng is classified as an adaptogen. Extensive scientific research into the mechanisms of ginseng have led scientists to identify what they believe to be the primary active ingredients in ginseng, saponin triterpenoid glycosides, commonly called ginsenocides. Korean ginseng was found to have 28 ginsenocides which act on several body systems including the immune system, central nervous system and cardiovascular system.
