Hi-Lignan Flax Seed Oil by Omega Nutrition is a result of a select process. The flax seeds are fresh-pressed at low temperatures (86 - 99 F) without the use of light, oxygen, bleaching agents, preservatives, chemical extractions, or hexane. The oil is completely unrefined and does not contain any Trans Fatty Acids (TFAs).
Flax seed fiber contains plant lignans that form potent antioxidant compounds when the lignans come in contact with beneficial bacteria. Lignans have also demonstrated anti-viral and anti-bacterial properties.
Other health benefits may include flax oil’s ability to reduce high blood pressure, demonstrate both estrogen-like and anti-estrogenic effects, minimize levels of LDL cholesterol, and it may have the ability to fight against cancer.
