Jarrow Formula’s Primrose 500 consists of 100% pure, solvent-free, cold-pressed oil from the seeds of the Evening Primrose (Oenothera lamarchiana) plant. This oil contains abundant amounts of gamma-linolenic acid (GLA). Gamma-linolenic acid is an omega-6 fatty acid which plays a crucial role in human metabolism. In order to maximize the stability and safety of the product, Jarrow Formulas has also added the antioxidant reagent gamma tocopherol (a variant of Vitamin E).
Primrose may play a significant role to counter many human diseases including respiratory infections, stomach and nerve related disorders.
Evening primrose oil may also relieve pre-menstrual syndrome (PMS), menopausal symptoms, and painful breasts caused by changes in hormonal levels during menstruation. GLA, found in evening primrose oil, also can bring relief from some symptoms of PMS.
