History and Usage:

Lavender Essential Oil is a well-known calmative herb and is also useful in treating cuts and bruises. A couple of drops are needed to calm restlessness, induce sleep, soothe abdominal troubles, ease aches and pains and restore appetite. Lavender oil has also been used in the treatment of skin ailments like burns, wounds, fungal infections, eczema and acne. Lavender oil, when added to a warm bath, increases circulation, thereby easing the pain of arthritis.

Lavender Essential Oil in its pure form should not be taken internally. When used directly on the skin, it’s a good idea to apply a small amount of the essential oil to a water-moistened cotton ball to avoid skin irritation.
