History and Usage:

Rosemary oil comes from the flowers of Rosmarinus officialinus, an herb with a long history of relieving both mental and physical dullness. The scent can be described as clean and energizing (rosemary, a woody evergreen, contains a large component of pinene, a chemical in pine trees that gives them their distinctive smell). Its stimulating quality diminishes feelings of lethargy and fatigue and dispels headaches. Topically applied, it improves the circulation to the skin and it eases muscular pain and cramps. Increased blood flow to the scalp can enhance hair growth, so rosemary is also frequently used as a hair treatment. Rosemary oil also acts as an antiseptic and astringent and therefore improves the texture of the skin.
