Tyrosine is an important amino acid. Like other amino acids, tyrosine is utilized as a building block, in this case for important brain chemicals. Tyrosine is needed to make epinephrine, norepinephrine, serotonin and dopamine. Since these chemicals help regulate mood, a deficiency in tyrosine has been associated with depression.
Tyrosine also is involved in making melanin, the pigment responsible for hair and skin color. The adrenal, thyroid and pituitary glands, which produce and regulate hormones, also rely on tyrosine for proper functioning. Research has shown that tyrosine functions as an adaptogen. Adaptogens help the body cope with stress and return it to a normal balance.
Symptoms of tyrosine deficiency can also include low blood pressure, low body temperature and restless legs.
Each capsule contains 500 mg of L-Tyrosine and 15 mg of Vitamin B-6, an important vitamin for metabolizing amino acids.
Suggested Use: As a dietary supplement, adults take one (1) to four (4) capsules daily, or as directed by a health care professional. Store in a cool, dry place and away from direct light.

All Vitabase brand products are manufactured within the USA. This is important for quality because the FDA inspects our manufacturing facilities regularly. In other countries, governmental agencies may not necessarily exercise much control over manufacturing processes.
We source our ingredients from around the world. This is important because the best available ingredients are not necessarily made in the United States. For example, we get our liquid herbal extract ingredients from Europe because they are absolutely the best on the market.
