Capsicum is found as an ingredient in many herbal blends because it helps increase the function of other herbs. It contains capsaicin (methyl vanillyl nonenamide), the fat-soluble chemical that gives hot peppers their heat.
Taken internally, capsaicin is thought to help proper digestion by stimulating the secretion of gastric juices. It is also thought to promote a healthy circulatory system.
Each capsule contains 490 mg capsicum. The capsicum used in this product is a rich source of capsaicin, producing 35,000–45,000 Scoville Heat Units.
