If you are experiencing swollen glands on the jaw line below your ears that are accompanied by fever, chills, loss of appetite, and sore throat, then you may have mumps. Mumps is spread through saliva, and usually occurs in children.

Notes


  • Adults should be vaccinated if they are not already for the mumps.
  • For nausea and or pain on swallowing and you are not able to eat you need to intravenous administer dextrose and fluids.
  • For testicular pain speak to your doctor about using corticosteroids.
  • Mumps are contagious and should anyone who has come into contact with a person with the virus or developed mumps needs to watch for signs for the next 14-28days.
  • Mumps will have to run it course there is not a medication for it. You should get plenty of rest support your body for the course of the virus. Mumps usually lasts 10 days.
  • See a doctor if you develop severe vomiting, fever over 104F, stiff neck followed by a severe headache, tenderness or swelling of testicles.

Advice


  • Detox your body by fasting.
  • Drink plenty of water.
  • Either use warm or cold packs for swollen glands. (which ever you prefer)
  • Foods to cause discomfort are dairy products, white flour or sugar products, along with tobacco and coffee.
  • When the glands are swollen eat raw vegetables and fruits that are softened.
