Narcolepsy
About
Narcolepsy is a neurological disorder that reveals itself in sleep attacks, sleep paralysis, cataplexy, and/or hypnagogic hallucinations. Brain infection, tumors, or head trauma may cause narcolepsy, though this is just speculation.
Notes
- Doctors have new drugs on the market for narcolepsy, instead of prescribing antidepressants and stimulants.
- Food allergies can also have an effect on narcolepsy. Researchers have documentation that a person was cured after he took potatoes out of his diet.
- Lack of sleep and drowsiness are often caused by shift work, weekend partying, jet lag, inconsistent bedtimes.
- The top causes of tiredness during the day is sleep apnea and narcolepsy.
- To diagnose narcolepsy you must be tested by a multiple sleep latency test.
