Scabies
About
Scabies is from a skin mite that lays its eggs in the top layer of skin. An itchy rash will appear. This is most common in nursing homes and day cares.
Notes
- Do not use scabicides on pregnant women or children under 6.
- It could take 1-2 weeks after treatment for the itching to ease. Cortisone or antihistamine could provide relief along with oatmeal baths, cool compresses and calendula salve.
- Permethrin has replaced Lindane because of less side effects.
- Scabies are able to spread through crowded, institutional or unsanitary living conditions.

Primrose oil
Importance: High
Comments: Promotes healing of the skin.
Vitamin A
Importance: High
Comments: Promotes healing. Helps produce new skin tissue.
Kelp

Comments: Provides needed minerals.
Zinc
Importance: Moderate
Comments: Helps with tissue reconstruction. Boosts immune system. Zinc gluconate lozenges and OptiZinc are recommended.

Aloe vera

Purposes: Apply to affective area.
Goldenseal, tea tree oil and/or balsam of Peru
Type: external/Internal
Purposes: Kills infection
Cautions: Do not use if pregnant, allergic to ragweed or internally for more than a week.
Garlic, black walnut, and wormwood
Type: Internal
Purposes: Helps fight parasite infections.
Calendula and/or comfrey
Type: External
Purposes: Eases itching
Cautions: Comfrey not be taken internally.
Rhubarb
Type: Internal
Purposes: Aids in cleansing the body of parasitic infection.
Advice
- Avoid Soft drinks along with alcoholic drinks.
- Do not eat any animal products and especially fried foods.
- Do not have contact with infected person.
- Drink plenty of water.
- Must wash all clothes and all bed linens in hot water and RID to kill the infection.
- Need to cover the entire body (neck down) in permethrin cream or as prescribed by your doctor.
- To help healing eat plenty of foods high in Zinc.
