About
A common bacterial infection of a little canal within the lid. Does not respond well to antibiotics. The best treatment is to hold hot compresses against it. The bump is a collection of fluid in a little sac inside the lid.
Notes
- Antibiotics might be necessary for styes that will not heal.
- Never squeeze a stye it could spread to the blood stream.

Raspberry Leaf Tea
Type: External
Purposes: Make a tea from the raspberry leaf, then cool. Makes an excellent eye wash to treat styes. Can also make a compress from the raspberry leaf tea and treat the eye for 10 to 15 minutes as needed.
Advice
- In order to promote healing, place a hot compress on the stye for ten minutes four to six times a day.
- Those who frequently develop styes should increase their vitamin A intake.
